Information about patient data

The data for the evaluation is patient-level record data provided by NHS Hospital Trusts and Community Stop Smoking Services. The data is provided in an anonymous form to protect patient privacy. The data includes patient health and clinical characteristics, smoking status, diagnoses, demographic information, and administrative details.

Data security and protection measures are ensured through compliance with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) standards. The DSPT is an online self-assessment tool that allows an organisation to measure their performance against the National Data Guardian's 10 data security standards. The SCHARR Information Governance Committee assesses our policies and processes against this tool annually in order to provide assurance that SCHARR practise good data security and that personal information is handled correctly.

All project team members have undergone information governance training in line with the SCHARR Information Governance Policy.
